Doug Fraser Art has new signs!!

We are happy to report we have new signs for Doug Fraser Art.  It was a year in the making so we are so excited about getting them up.  Well we have two up so far and Carrie and I are still speaking!!!  Read more here...

Well we are very excited and would like to thank Craig Yorke and Hugo Ford of Image House for their expertise with the three Doug Fraser Art images we are using for our signs.  We would also like to thank Mega Bites Signage of Inverness for putting it all together and for putting up with Carrie and I.  We would also like to thank the Cape Breton County Centre for Art and Design for their continued support of the arts.  And of course for all you people out there that reviewed the many different sign designs and for the many people that gave their input on our signage needs.

We hope you like them.

We have two up and four more to go...wish us luck...

The Bear Visits

Check out our video....

So we have given up. Our compost belongs to the crows, the rabbits and yes the bears....

I recently put out the compost on my way to studio. When I got to the studio I thought.. well I should put the wheel barrel in the shed. When I turned the corner I met Mr. Bear just ten feet away. He was not a bit shy. The kids put this together for me. I hope you enjoy.

Bears are common this time a year. Just waking up and a little hungry. Soon they will go up the back mountain where the berries are.

Life is full of interesting  and new experiences... Here I am with a film crew in my studio.  Who would of thought.  James and Darcy made the process easy and I thank them and the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design for another fun an admittedly somewhat nerve racking opportunity...read more here

Below I am getting a mike adjusted and the boys get the camera organized.  The technology really is something. They shot about an hour of film which somehow they will widdle down to five minutes. Can’t imagine I had that much to say! Really I prefer to let my art do the talking. It was good fun though and I look forward to seeing the finished product...I think.

This is an opportunity created by the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design and ECBC.  They are filming select artist from all over Cape Breton. The goal is to create a 5 minute film on each artist that can be used to promote the Artist of the Island.
